Letran got back at University of Perpetual Help, 82-80, Friday to take the No. 3 semifinal seeding in NCAA men’s basketball at The Arena in San Juan City.
It was the Knights’ sixth straight victory, avenging a 78-75 first round loss to the Altas and hiking their win-loss tally to 13-4.
Graduating forward Bong Quinto delivered the goods for Letran with 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals while JP Calvo also lent a helping hand by contributing 17 points, five boards and seven assists.
In the other game, San Sebastian and Jose Rizal University bested their opponents in their bid to end the season on a high note.
Regille Ilagan scored 26 points as the Stags whipped the Mapua Cardinals, 86-64, while Jed Mendoza and Darius Estrella teamed up for 33 points to steer the Bombers past the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 81-78.
San Sebastian improved to 5-12 and tied with Mapua, while JRU and EAC posted 3-14 and 4-14 records.
