The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has set the stage for the smooth holding of 56 events when the country hosts the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) by meeting with the majority of what they have branded as competition managers (CMs).
These CMs, according to POC communications director Ed Picson, are tasked by the POC to coordinate with each sport’s technical delegate and “take care of local arrangements, including logistics, venue and equipment.”
These CMs are either NSA leaders or key officials of their respective NSAs.
During a crucial meeting a few days ago at the POC headquarters, all but five CMs took part.
The 2019 SEAG will take place from Nov. 30-Dec. 10 with the New Clark Green City in Capas, Tarlac, as main hub and Metro Manila staging marquee sports basketball and boxing.
Centerpiece athletics and aquatics take place at the New Clark Green City.
The official number of sports and events will be finalized late this month when the SEAG Federation Council convenes.
