The Cool Smashers survived the Tacloban Fighting Warays’ late rally, 25-16, 25-16, 26-24, while the Lady Warriors rose from a two-set deficit to turn back the PetroGazz Angels, 17-25, 27-29, 25-16, 25-23, 15-13.
It was Creamline’s seventh triumph in nine matches to share second spot with BanKo-Perlas while Pocari-Air Force evened its record at 5-5.
Alyssa Valdez bucked a hurt ankle in the second set and finished with 17 points built on 10 kills, five aces and two blocks for the Cool Smashers even as Michele Gumabao, Pau Soriano and Risa Sato merged for 25 points.
Valdez had to sit out late in the second frame and returned in the third to ignite Creamline as it rose from a 15-10 deficit en route to the win.
Myla Pablo, meanwhile, steered the Lady Warriors with 22 points highlighted by 20 spikes while Iari Yongco fired 11 hits, three blocks and three aces to finish with 17 points.
Tacloban dropped to its seventh loss against four victories while PetroGazz slid to 5-4.
