Donnie Nietes is expected to conquer the scales when the official weighin of his World Boxing Organization superflyweight title fight takes place Sunday in Macau.
“He trains hard and he’s always in shape,” said Edito “Ala” Villamor, one of Nietes’ corner. Nietes faces Japanese Kazuto Ioka for the title and a win on Monday night will make the Filipino a four-division world champion.
Last September in Los Angeles, Nietes was held to a draw by fellow Filipino Aston Palicte in a fight he clearly dominated.
Like Nietes, Ioka is also gunning for a fourth world title.
