Petron and Cocolife boosted their lineups for the coming Philippine Superliga Grand Prix by acquiring veteran players.
The Blaze Spikers got the needed defensive strength on the floor with the transfer of veteran libero Denden Lazaro from Cocolife, while the Lifesavers got the services of middle blocker Amy Ahomiro and Bang Pineda.
Cocolife team manager Joshua Ylaya announced the transfer of Lazaro to the Blaze Spikers, wishing the national team member well in her career.
Lazaro, who suited up for Ateneo during her collegiate days, is expected to provide tough floor defense for Petron where she will join All-Filipino Conference Most Valuable Player Rhea Dimaculangan, Aiza Pontillas, Mika Reyes and imports Stephanie Niemer and Katherine Bell.
Ahomiro, also a former Ateneo player, was playing for the BanKo-Perlas Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League prior to her new stint with the Superliga.
Pineda, for her part, played for the Generika-Lifesavers as a libero.
