New York Mets outfielder Tim Tebow is engaged.
The Heisman Trophy winner announced on social media that he will tie the knot with Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the winner of Miss Universe 2017.
“Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” Tebow captioned an Instagram photo of himself kneeling as he proposed to Nel-Peters.
“Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you!” the South African beauty queen responded with her own post.
The 31-year-old Tebow confirmed that he was dating 23-year-old Nel-Peters over the summer.
“She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life,” he told ESPN last year. “I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful.”
Tebow started his career as a quarterback in the NFL. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in where he played two seasons before moving to the New York Jets in 2012.
