Juan Gomez de Liano of the University of the Philippines, Sean Manganti of the Adamson Soaring Falcons and Fil-American Joshua Munzon are among the 153 players who have applied for Tuesday’s PBA D-League Rookie Draft.
De Liano and Manganti hope to bring their strong plays from the UAAP into the PBA’s developmental tournament while Munzon is making his debut after playing two seasons for the Malaysia Dragons in the ASEAN Basketball League.
Twenty teams are joining the D-League’s 2019 season which opens on Valentine’s Day at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, with AMA Online Education picking first.
Other notable players joining the draft are La Salle’s Kib Montalbo and Sant Santillan, Ateneo’s Anton Asistio, Far Eastern University’s Jasper Parker, National University’s Troy Rike, San Beda’s AC Soberano, Arellano’s Ian Alban and Jose Rizal University’s Jed Mendoza.
Also joining the draft are Mapua’s Warren Bonifacio, Centro Escolar University’s Orlan Wamar and CESAFI Most Valuable Player Rey Suerte of the University of the Visayas.
