Ramos completed the long distance 6km run – 60km bike – 4km race in 2 hours, 27 minutes and 16 seconds to grab the male 18-24 age-group title as well. Former national duathlon champion Alexandra Ganzon, racing in the female 30-34 age group category, crossed the finish barely two minutes after Ramos in 2:29:14.
Hot on Ganzon’s heels was her male 30-34 counterpart, Oscar Miguel Mapalo of 2Wheel Nation Cycling club in 2:30:00. Mapalo’s fellow age grouper Luigi Victor Robles of FIT.PH, rounded out the Top 3 fastest males with a time of 2:31:39.
Joining Ganzon for overall fastest females in the event supported by Clark Global City, Udenna Group, NLEX-SCTEX Metro Pacific Tollways, Standard Insurance, Garmin, Pocari Sweat, Sip Purified Water, and Royce Hotel and Casino were triathletes Bernadette Tan as second fastest female and 1st place in the 45-49 age group with 2:51:15 and female 50-above champion Celma Hitalia with 2:57:25.
“We’re happy with the turnout of this race and considering the feedback from the participants, we’d be happy to support another edition next year if one gets planned,” said NLEX Sports’ Allan Gregorio. Gregorio and Wilfredo A. Placino, vice chairman and president of Global Gateway Development Corporation, were on hand to award the winners in the post-race ceremony.
