Bacoor stopped Las Piñas’ Cinderella run in the Metro League U17 Division with a 68-41 pummeling in the Southern Division Final at the STRIKE Gymnasium on Tuesday.
The Agimat were just too much for the Junior Home Defenders as the hosts held their visitors to a combined 14 points in the second and third quarters after conceding 13 in the opening period to set up the blowout.
Mikhail Gutierrez paced Bacoor, which will await the winner of the Northern Division Final between Quezon City and Caloocan on Saturday in the tournament finals next week, with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
John Garcia paced Las Piñas, which entered the playoffs as the fourth seed, with 11 points and four boards in a game where Jericho Reyes was held to just seven markers.
