Former world champion Rubilen Amit secured the third spot in the world rankings for women of the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA).
Amit garnered a total of 10,573 points after pocketing 5,323 points in the 2019 China Open last September 5 to 8, and 5,350 points in the 2018 9-ball World Cup,
Chinese player Han Yu topped the list with 12,180 points, while Siming Chen, also from China, followed with 10, 720 points.
Yu tallied 4,180 points in the 2019 China Open and bested the 9-ball World Cup with 8,000 points. Chen led the 2019 China Open with 6,720 points and scored 4,000 in the 9-ball World Cup.
Amit, the first Filipina world champion in billiards, is one of the four members of the billiards women’s team which will represent the country in the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
The Mandaue City-native cue artist has already bagged six gold medals in the SEA Games since 2005.
In 2009 and 2013, Amit ruled the WPA Women’s World 10-ball champion
With the win in 2009 and 2013, Amit became a two-time WPA women’s world 10-ball champion.
