Jan Manansala led the Greenies with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while Kobe Palencia had a solid all-around performance with eight points, seven boards and four assists.

The Greenies used a big second quarter to take control of the game by scoring 21 points while holding the Braves to just seven points that turned a 16-13 lead to a commanding 37-20 advantage at the half.

Arellano never recovered from there as CSB-LSGH posted the biggest lead of 57-30 entering the final frame.

“It’s a big win for us, but we know the next game is a tough one because we’ll face the top seed San Beda,” said Karl Santos, whose team dealt the Red Cubs their only defeat in 18 elimination round games.

“This is the path that we need to go through to achieve our goal of making it to the finals, and hopefully win the title again,” added Santos as the Greenies hope to regain the crown they won in 2017.

Last year, the Greenies lost to the Mapua Red Robins.

CSB-LSGH will face twice-to-beat top seed San Beda on Nov. 5 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

Lyceum of the Philippines University, which is in the semifinal round for the first time carrying a twice-to-beat bonus as the No. 2 team, plays No. 3 San Sebastian in the other Final Four pairing.

Miguel Sahali had 13 points, five rebounds and three assists to lead the Braves, while Chris Recto added 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Earlier, Leonel Policarpio collected 22 points and 24 rebounds as deposed champion Mapua topped Emilio Aguinaldo College, 73-64, to wrap up its elimination campaign with a 6-12 record.
